New floors!

I realize it's been a few months and I'm super far behind but it's been crazy busy at our house. In addition to the normal chaos that the school year and sports bring, Hank is going to school in his spare time (which is very little) and we decided right before the holidays would be a great time to replace our floors. Not the smartest idea we've ever had but after waiting six years it was totally worth it. We also decided to save a little money, because new floors cost a small fortune, and tear out all the old flooring ourselves. Well, Hank and Tucker did it, but I supervised real well.

All the baseboards had to be removed.
Our ugly kitchen linoleum coming out.
And now we get to see the cracks in the foundation which freaked me out. The tile guy assured me it would be fine and he would cover them before placing the tile.
Tucker got a good education in manual labor and how to be careful with carpet strips full of tacks.
You see all that brown? Yeah, that is all the sand that was under our carpet. Nasty.
That would be the very first piece of tile put down. I was just a little excited.

We had to do the demo in stages due to having to move the furniture around. It was a long, hard process that I hope to never have to go through again.

Grout time!

We still have to replace all the baseboards, but aren't they beautiful?!
