Bun practice

For Sailor's upcoming dance recital she is required to wear her hair pulled up in a bun with no bangs, like that's an easy task for me. Sailor's hair is just now getting long enough to go in a ponytail yet doesn't easily stay pulled back, it always slides right out of the bands. Add the fact that I had no clue how to make a bun and we have a major problem on our hands. After lots of looking and talking with other moms, we decided to give her hair it's first practice bun the day before dance pictures. I have to say I'm rather proud of how it turned out. No guarantees it will stay up for the entire recital but we will do the best we can.

Such a beautiful little face!
A few shots taken while waiting for dance pictures, hair didn't turn out too bad after all.

Newest Address

I finally have a new address for Hank. He is at his newest base and working on getting settled as much as possible. I honestly don't know how long he will be there, it sounds like he may be there to do his job and then move on to another base. We no longer have the ability to skype, was nice while it lasted, but he does still have internet and email access, so feel free to email him. He may not be able to respond as his time is limited but I'm sure he would enjoy hearing from anyone. He has assured me he will take pictures of the various bases he visits but most likely won't be able to email home due to lack of time and internet connections. I guess we will all have to wait until he gets home to see where he is and what he's doing.

How Great Thou Art

I didn't watch the special on tv where this was performed, but a friend of mine posted about it on facebook along with a touching note to her sister who passed away in the fall following surgery. It totally brought me to tears and is one of the most share worthy video's I've ever seen.

WNP Kindergarten program

Sailor's class along with four other kindergarten classes gave a wonderful performance at WNP this morning. Sailor has been so excited as she was one of two in her class chosen for a speaking part. She did such a great job! Sorry the video isn't the best, I was recording with my phone.

Mrs. Bumgardner's Bullfrogs
Hugs for a great performance.
After the performance we went back to Sailor's class for cookies, I think that was Cutter's favorite part.

Bathing Beauty

With all the nice weather we've had lately, I've been working on teaching Sailor the fine art of laying out. We put on our bathing suits, put on our sunglasses, grab a magazine and out to the back yard we go. She usually gets bored pretty quick but is adorable to look at in the short time she's out there.

Tumbling class

Sailor has been taking tumbling all year and last Saturday was the first day that I was able to get any photos of her. Normally she has class at the same place she takes dance, and they practice in a room with only a window to watch. Last week she had to go to Ft Walton Beach to practice for her recital with a class from Destin and I finally was able to go in and watch and take pictures. She is enjoying it so much that she's asked to take a gymnastics class in the fall at a real gym.

Navarre High School Prom

I love prom season! Our friend, Sarah Beth, was attending the prom this year and we were so excited to be able to go with them over to the beach to take pictures. Sailor especially loved seeing all the girls in their princess dresses and the guys all looking handsome. She had already picked out her favorite dress by the time we left.

Who says you have to carry a purse, Under Armour really has gear for every occasion!
The group had rented a party bus as their transportation for the evening, I imagine a fun time was had by all!
How cute are they?!

Cutter and his Alli
After the kids all left for the prom we made a stop at McDonalds. Cutter loves the shark that sits in our store.
And the kids all love the video games that are set up to play, they didn't want to leave.

Bourbon Street & Jackson Square

While the boys were touring the World War II museum, we drove around and did a little sightseeing. There was absolutely no place to park as spring break was in full swing but we were able to drive down the main streets and still catch a few interesting sights.
There is a guy in the middle of that crowd and some serious "dirty dancing" going on. So glad Sailor fell asleep!
I've promised Hank one of those beers when he gets home.
You really do see anything and everything on Bourbon St.
The architecture and buildings are simply amazing and beautiful.

I guess he's waiting on someone to play a game with him.
He was really playing music with that thing.
I don't even have words for this one.
I'm not sure what the dress code is for an event like that!

Lafayette Cemetery No. 1

While the kids were out for spring break and my parents were here, we drove over to New Orleans for a day trip. Mom was able to visit with Tootsie, dad and Tucker were able to check out the World War II museum, and I was finally able to get into one of the local cemeteries. I am simply amazed at the architecture and beauty that is put into the building of these. The one we visited is located in the Garden District. I had to come home and do a little research to find out more about it. It was established in 1833 and is the only cemetery in New Orleans that is dedicated to anyone, a musician. There is a confederate general as well as several civil war vets buried here also.

Crime scene photos

As I was downloading some photos off my phone I came upon these pictures. Obviously they were taken before Hank deployed but I'm really not sure when we took them. The kids thought this was the funniest thing. Cutter would run up to his, point and yell, "me"!

Tucker couldn't stand a blank canvas, he needed to give his some character.
