T-ball

I think for the very last game of each child, I finally remembered to take my camera to take pictures. So much for mom of the year this year. I usually spend my time in between fields watching Cutter and Sailor at the same time. I'm so thankful they play on fields right beside each other! I don't know if there is anything much cuter than t-ball. It has to be one of the most entertaining sports and the kids are so cute!

Baseball ready.
He puts some serious concentration into it.

His very last game and he got the game ball. He was super proud!
Nothing better than a drink and a snack after such a hard game.

Mother's Day picking

I wasn't sure we would make it to the strawberry patch this year and was starting to get a little desperate on finding a free day to go. Luckily, they were open on Mother's Day, so off to Baker we went. It turned out to be a beautiful day and the fields were full of ripe strawberries.

  Yum!

Hmm, I wonder if anyone will notice me sneak just this one?!

One of the best parts of the day, homemade strawberry shortcake and frozen yogurt. Seriously some of the best I've ever had.

Field trip fun

I don't often get to go on field trips with the kids. They tend to be on Fridays when Cutter is out of school, and most of them don't allow siblings to attend. For Sailor's last field trip of the year to the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, it was during the week when Cutter was in school and we finished in time for me to pick him up on schedule. I was a little excited to finally be able to go and help out.

The kids dissecting a squid.

Some of the kids weren't fond of touching them, Sailor's group couldn't keep their hands off and could hardly wait to cut it open.

They were determined to find out if they had a boy or girl.
One of the stations newest additions, an octopus living inside a water bottle. I couldn't get a picture, but she has laid eggs inside.
Some outside fun and games.

Lunchtime.
Lunch is over, we are at the beach, why not get in a little tanning?!

  Everyone's favorite, the horseshoe crabs.
The kids all wanted to touch the crab, I wanted to cook the crab.

Record Rainfall

Once again I'm a little behind in my postings. Between sports and the end of the year school activities, things get completely crazy around here. Sorry.

At the end of April we had not just massive amounts of rain, but Noah needs to bring the ark kind of flooding. We were very fortunate and other than a little leaking around a rood vent that has only caused some cosmetic damage to drywall, we were completely untouched. Many others were not near as fortunate and just two houses down from us had standing water in their house.

This picture is the houses diagonal across the street from us. At this point there was water completely across the road in some parts.

This car is two houses down from us.

My back yard.

Once the rain eased up some, Hank had to go out and try to clear debris from around the fence lines so water could flow through.

Luckily, my front yard was high and dry.
We are located about 20 miles east of Pensacola and although we didn't get the 26 inches of rain that they did, we did receive about 17 inches during a little over a 24 hour time period.
