Sand sculpting

This weekend Navarre Beach held a sand sculpting contest. We had hoped to get over in time to watch some of the work but due to a football game and Sailor still not feeling well we didn't get to go until later Saturday afternoon. The artists also had most of yesterday to finish their work before judging was to begin. We didn't go yesterday due to rain so I'm anxious to learn who won the contest. I don't do well getting my sand buckets to make decent shapes, I can't imagine the talent and patience that goes into making something like this!

Sailor vs. Mailbox

We recently had some friends move in on the next street over and since Tucker and Morgan could ride their bikes back and forth to each others houses we figured this would be just the incentive to get Sailor on her bike and learn to ride without training wheels. Yesterday afternoon Hank took the training wheels off and Sailor and I went to practicing. She did such a great job. She was quickly getting the hang of it and surprised us all with how far she was riding by herself. What we sadly forgot to work on was how to stop. She rode from the end of our driveway to the neighbors driveway and right smack into their all brick mailbox. Needless to say, Sailor had her first trip to the ER yesterday afternoon late. Luckily they were able to suture the wound closed with only 3 stitches. Sailor did such a great job and although she didn't want to ride again yesterday, she was feeling well enough to go fishing this morning.

Labor day weekend

The weather could not have been more perfect for the Labor Day weekend. We had blue skies, warm temps and nice breezes. The only thing that could have been better was the water, we could have done without so much grass. We spent all Sunday afternoon out at the beach and pool at the condo some friends of ours are staying at. The kids had a great time, and even better, Hank and I had great time. So thankful to the USAF for such great friends!

Tucker and Morgan were born at the same hospital about a month apart. This is the third base that our two families have been stationed at together.
Cutter has taking a liking to Allie. And a big thank you to Mr Marquis for teaching Cutter how to put his cookies in his pockets!

Pier time

After a long week of homework, dance classes, and football practice, the one constant thing my family looks forward to on the weekends is fishing. Sailor likes to get in on a little bit of the action, but only for a short amount of time. If the fish aren't biting, she loses interest real fast! Cutter and I enjoy the exercise we get while taking in all the beauty of the beach.

Navarre Raiders

Tucker decided this year to try his hand at a new sport, tackle football. This is a full time job in itself. With practices four days a week and games on Saturday, we don't have a lot of free time left for anything other than homework. This past Saturday was Tucker's first game. It turned out to be a really hot and humid day, sure hope it cools off some for the remainder of the season. Tucker got out on the field for a few plays and although I don't see him playing in the NFL in the near future, I hope he is enjoying the learning experience.

Of course there was no way Tucker was going to play without Hank trying to figure out how to get in on some of the action, so he is one of the assistant coaches.

Sailor, Cutter and myself did our best to stay shaded. Thank goodness for umbrellas.

It was one hot game!
